Visit to Pops and Mere's

So here's the recap of our trip to Prescott....We left in the afternoon on a Thursday, stayed overnight in a hotel, then drove the rest of the trip Friday morning. The kids did pretty good actually...yea kids! We hung out at my grandparents' house for awhile, then took our stuff over to my uncle's house where Jeff, me, and the kiddos were staying.

This is him, DC. He sells dog hats for a living, no joke. He goes to shows around AZ and NV and puts up his booth and his dogs all sit there perfectly and model the hats. My sister-in-law sews them for him. He's been doing this since I was a kid.

Then Duncan and Dayton helped my parents and I trim the bushes in my grandparents' "yard". I was a little nervous with Duncan handling the clippers, but he did a great job. Dayton loaded up the bag and tried not to be too jealous that he wasn't clipping.

My uncle, in addition to his dogs, has 4 pigs. The boys loved them! They fed them peanuts and walked around their area for quite awhile chasing them (poor pigs). Duncan spent the last night at my grandparents' house so he had me put the phone on speaker the next morning as we were packing up so he could say goodbye to the piggies. Dayton was convinced we could take one home with us. Yeah, right.

Here is everyone right before we left. Where has Jeff been in all these stories and pictures you ask? He was sick the whole trip so he spent the entire time sitting alone in my uncle's house watching TV and playing with my mom's laptop. We saw him to say good morning and goodnight but that was about all. I thought it fitting that he ended up taking the shot of everybody at the end since someone had to take it and not be in it. Don't worry though...we did take some with him but they didn't turn out very good. Anyways, a big thank you to pops, Mere, and DC for their hospitality - we had a great time!

Looks like fun! Doesn't it seem like everytime you have a vacation planned someone in the family gets sick? It happens to us all the time. Usually it's Trev, I think it's his way to get out of visiting with my family. Was Jeff pulling a Trevor? :)

Hooray for family vacations! That sounds like fun (minus the part where Jeff got sick). Anytime you throw pigs into the mix, you know it's going to be a real party!
