Work Party

Wow, I have been a slacker lately...we potty trained Dayton last week and that just put me behind in everything. But a couple of weeks ago Jeff's work had a really fun party at Franklin Covey field in Salt Lake. They started things off with a yummy lunch (hot dogs, burgers, chili, watermelon, veggies, chips, cookies). Then there were just a ton of things to go and do at your own pace. The boys had a blast running from one thing to the next, despite the fact it was entirely too hot out. The sad part of the day though was that there was a little train running back and forth and we (Jeff) kept putting it off to do other stuff first (read: the batting cages, fast pitch, and prizes...all the adult stuff) and then right as we got to the train it got a flat tire and was done for the day. Duncan and Dayton both had a little meltdown at that point. Duncan even actually cried and smeared his awesome face paint (see below). But they got over it and found even more things to do afterward. Plus, before the party got started we got to go ice skating for free at the ice rink.

Duncan was not too sure about the slippery ice. He had a pretty good grip on Jeff the whole time he was out there. Dayton would only go for a couple minutes at a time until finally he got brave and did a whole lap around. Jeff and I had to take turns taking them out since Tucker was asleep in his stroller.

Here is good Spiderman and bad Spiderman (pre-tear marks). Don't they look great! That is Duncan's best Spiderman pose.

Tucker isn't too sure about tackling the slide by himself.

They had the fun game where you soak up water with a sponge from one bucket, then squeeze it out into another bucket. And what good is it if you can't smack Dad in the gut with one of the sponges?

Here is Jeff doing his best to pitch. Duncan actually did this one too but I didn't get the camera out in time, darn it.

Dayton couldn't even get close to throwing the ball in the basket from the ground so he took matters into his own hands.

And what good is a day in the hot sun if it doesn't wear your kids out?

What fun! Love the face-paintings.

Seriously, it only took a week to potty train Dayton? What's your secret?!
