Meet Pig
All right, so obviously we are just plain loony. But there is a somewhat-sane explanation for this. We got Jack a few months ago and since then I have realized that I am just not an active dog person. I grew up with lap dogs so that's what I like. I just didn't realize how bouncy and chewy Jack would be. Jeff loves playing fetch and stuff with him, but it's not really my cup of tea. And the kids have no use for him until he stop eating their toys and stops tackling them every time they walk by.
So we had been thinking of possibly finding Jack a new home with a family where more people than just the dad would like him. And in the midst of considering that we found this little guy. So Jeff said we could get him instead. He wasn't thrilled, but in the interest of making the rest of the family happy he was willing. So I should have been thrilled. But I wasn't. I was plagued by guilt, thinking of all the hours Jeff had spent training and walking Jack. So I decided we needed to just re-sell the new little guy. Problem was, the kids already loved him. And so did I. So now we are the slightly insane owners of two dogs, one of which could easily eat the other if he was so inclined.
You might be wondering about the odd choice of name....when we were still thinking that Jack was leaving Jeff insisted that he get to name the new one since he was losing his dog. Obviously I thought that was more than fair. So he named him Pig, short for Pigwidgeon (from Harry Potter....Jeff really isn't as much of a dork as that makes him seem). But now that Jack is staying I got gypped out of getting to name the little cutie. But by the time we decided that the name had stuck. Here's hoping we survive two puppies, one baby, one toddler, and one little boy. Yikes!

That is the cutest little dog! Your story made me laugh because I could totally picture you telling it to me in person:) Cali wants a puppy sooo bad but I told her that she has to wait until the soon to be new baby is older:) Like 16:) jk
You're a brave, brave woman. Good luck with that!
I love the name! Does that make me a nerd, too? Either way, you have just made your kids' entire childhood by getting some dogs. So you might FEEL crazy, but really you're just super cool.
