Fishy Fun

This year Dayton decided he wanted a fish birthday. My requirements for a birthday theme are basically that it's not a specific cartoon character b/c I'm too cheap to buy all that stuff and that I can think of an idea for making a cake around it. So an ocean/fish theme sounded great to me!

We started off by coloring pictures while we waited for everyone to get there.

Then it was right into games: pin the leg on the octopus and fish, fish shark. The kids loved all the running around!

After all the game craziness it was time to make some paper plate fishies.

One last game of Don't Eat Pete, or whatever it's called. What's not to like about eating a bunch of M&Ms?

Time for presents! Dayton got some great stuff.

Blowing out the candles
He had four of his friends come, plus Duncan and his cousin Grace. He had a blast! It was loud and chaotic, but it was worth it. He was so patient waiting for it to be his party day since we had to postpone it a week. As always, his wonderful older cousins came and helped me out. And thanks to my mom for having at her house so that we could keep Ellie away from all the kids!
