Party Like a Rock Star

All right, these pictures are a little out of order because I loaded some of them in the wrong way, but I am too lazy to start over.

Duncan wanted a rock star birthday this year....actually, he was leaning a little more towards a Star Wars party but I didn't have any ideas for that so he agreed to go with his second choice -a rock 'n roll party...he is good like that. I think he ended up really happy with it.

Here is the end of the party - cake time! My favorite time because I am not trying to get the kids to do anything and it is almost time for all ten of them to get picked up!

We played Rocker, Rocker, Spaz. I have discovered that just good old fashioned simple games are the best way to go with a bunch of kids. In the past I have tried to do more involved things and it doesn't turn out nearly as well.

Once again the wonderful cousins save my sanity at a birthday party. Trevor and Kimberly came to help, plus they did a concert with Trevor's new electric guitar. Kimberly was nice enough to entertain Ellie for us during one of the games.

Duncan scored pretty good this year with presents. His very favorite was the last one - a Lego Star Wars kit. He got some Legos for Christmas and he has gone a little nuts with them. He doesn't even need my help anymore following the directions to put them together.

Here is the aforementioned concert....don't the cousins looks great!? All of the kids thought it was pretty cool to have a real 'band' here.

At the very beginning of the party (like I said, backwards pics) the kids all colored a guitar picture while we were waiting for everyone to get there. It's a great way to keep everyone interested and not running around like lunatics.
I actually think this was the best birthday party yet!
Side note - one of the things I got Duncan for his birthday was this shirt:
I laughed when I found it b/c Duncan will never admit that he loves me or that I'm really good for anything besides making food. Anyways, when he opened it I told him that if he didn't like it he could return it. He said that he would keep it, but that he wished it said "My Dad Rocks" instead. Seriously. Dads get all the credit.
Duncan just reminded me that I never did a birthday interview with him like I did for Dayton, so here it is...sorry for the extra long post to get through
