Mickey Revisited

I really lucked out with Tucker's birthday this year. I have been so distracted by other stuff going on that his birthday really snuck up on me. Normally I start figuring out what to do a couple of weeks ahead of time as far as the cake and decorations go. But this year it wasn't until a couple of days before that I even thought about it. However, Tucker saved the day by picking Mickey again. My mom had actually found this really cute farm cake that she thought he might like but Mickey won out. Hooray for me! I already knew how to do the cake and I still had the decorations from last year since I can't ever bear to throw anything away.

We started the celebration at Rib City though. It's a yummy barbecue restaurant that us and the rest of my family all had gift certificates to so it was an obvious choice. Tucker had his best manners on display, obviously. He got a free piece of chocolate pie since it was his birthday and he was really nice and shared it with everyone. Quick note on his hat - he had gotten it in nursery the day before and wore it straight thru until he went to bed on Monday. He was so thrilled.

Present time is always fun. He got some great stuff!

And the cake. Mickey did get an upgrade to sprinkles this year...that was my one effort to not be a total loser. Jeff tried to get Tucker to take a bite out of the whole thing before we cut it but Tucker refused. But later he just kept digging bites out with his fork, ignoring the piece on his plate. What a goof!
