Happy Birthday Duncan!!!!!

Boy, I love this kid. I seriously cannot believe that he is eight today! It doesn't seem real that it's been that long since he was a baby. Jeff made this amazing DVD slideshow of pictures of Duncan from when he was born 'til now and it was crazy looking back. He used to be this cute little tiny chubby thing. I guess he is still tiny compared to other kids. The other day in Primary he stood up with everyone in his class and he is easily an entire head shorter than all of them. He likes it though.
Duncan really is amazing. I know I am too hard on him most of the time...I think it's a being the oldest thing. Hopefully I will get better and try to remember he's still just a kid! He is such a great helper with his brothers and sister. I really do rely on him all the time. He is wonderful with Ellie...he'll get her out of her crib and bring her to me when she wakes up, he shares food with her without complaining, he'll even watch her in her room for me if I need her out of the way to get something done. With Dayton and Tucker it's one extreme or the other: he's either super nice or he's just really ticked at them. But the other night at dinner Tucker spilled his milk and I completely overreacted (Jeff had been sick and out of commission for 4 days and I was a little stressed) and wasn't being very nice about it and Duncan just sat there and told him that it would be okay, that it was an accident, etc. I just stood there listening to him thinking that he was so awesome and I was so lame.
Probably the first thing most people would say about him is that he's funny. But not obnoxious funny...most of the time he knows when to reign it in. All of the teachers he's ever had in school have told me how much they love having him in class, that he's just a cool kid. He's also pretty smart, with an amazing memory. He talks about stuff that happened when he was so little that he still remembers. He's also super into clothes, has been since he was two. His favorite pants are his skinny jeans that he asked for for Christmas. He is super picky about what he wears, to the point that I won't buy anything for him unless he's with me anymore. He also LOVES shoes. His favorites are a pair of Chuck Taylors my parents got him that are blue and pink. I know, awesome. Oh, and his favorite color is pink.
Because I am lame I am just now getting this up even though his birthday's almost over, plus I forgot to ask him the birthday interview questions today, so I'll have that up later along with party stuff and then baptism stuff - sheesh!
