I'm Raising a Mountain Goat

Ellie is driving me crazy. She climbs everything. EVERYTHING. And there is no stopping her. Unless I keep her glued to me every second of the day this is what happens:

Chewing on toothbrushes. Fairly harmless, I will admit. But just keep going.

Up until a couple of weeks ago her room was the last safe haven in our house. When I got desperate I would lock her in there for a few minutes and I knew she couldn't get into anything. Not true anymore. She pulls everything off of her shelf and climbs it.

This is a favorite during prayer and scriptures at bedtime. Unfortunately, since this picture was taken she has advanced from simply climbing onto the second level. Now she tries to go all the way to the top. As a sad testament to my parenting skills I actually did find her on the top bunk one time. Remember, it's a triple decker.

Again, this one is not so bad except when this playset is on the cement after Jeff has mowed the lawn.

See that little tiny speck at the top of the slide? That's her. We do have a nice Ellie-sized slide, but of course this one is much better in her opinion. We tried blockading the ladder that goes up to the top but after four different versions of obstacles that she still managed to find her way around we just decided to let her go and hope for the best.

This is the other side, the not nearly as safe ladder that goes up to the monkey bars. Nothing to lean on here.

And just for good measure: "Look Mom, no hands!"

Seriously, anyone want to take bets on how long before she gets her first stitches?

What a crazy climber. I have to admit though I love the little bit I saw of her room. I would LOVE to have you send me pictures of her actual room and how you decorated it.
