Feelin' the Love

A couple of weeks ago I was teasing Duncan about always wanting to be at my mom's house...I said "Come on Duncan, don't you like me?" He thought about it for a minute and then said, "Well, I kind of like you." That just made my day, as you can imagine. I am a little worried that if that is his opinion of me now, at 5, how much worse is it going to get when he is a teenager?

Then there's this one.....Duncan's preschool class is having a little graduation program in a couple of weeks and Duncan has a part to say. I asked him tonight at dinner if he knew it. This is what his part is: One of my favorite things is to write love notes to my mother. This song we sang at Valentine's because we felt lots of love for each other. So Duncan starts saying it and right after he says the love notes to his mom part he adds "Well, that's not really my favorite thing, but I have to say it, and then continues on. While I tried to control my fits of laughter I managed to tell him that he doesn't need to say the extra stuff at the ceremony...wouldn't that be just great?

What a sweetheart. Graduation already? I bet he's getting excited to be a Kindergartener! He sounds so darling!

So how did the line recitation go? Did he announce to everyone that it wasn't really his favorite thing? He is such a hoot!
