Look at all that pink! Little girls are so much fun! I had a lot of fun getting ready for Ellie's first birthday...after so many boy birthdays I had been having a hard time coming up with new ideas for their parties every time, so it was nice that this time anything was new.
Ellie really had no interest in her bags of presents. The boys have all started to at least pull out the tissue paper, but Ellie just crawled away every time. Thus no great pictures. She did like the balloons though.

Duncan was her official present-opener. Most things she didn't pay much attention to, but she really liked a little singing doll from my brother's family (he always makes a point to get the most annoying presents for my kids possible), and these little rattle cars that I got her.

She is a big fan of her cousin Kimberly since she always has a sparkly butterfly necklace on. As soon as Kimberly picks her up she goes straight for it every time. Kimbers is a really good sport to let Ellie suck on her necklace all the time.

The boys found good use for the balloons.

First taste of the cake! Jeff likes to always hand them the entire cake when they are little and let them just start digging in before I cut a piece for them. I'm not thrilled with the messy sides, but my first idea didn't work, so I was trying to make do.

I made a pink cake (of course!) so she really didn't get too messy with it. She really loved it - you can see she just picked up the whole piece and went at it. She also loved her first cup of milk. It's so nice when they turn a year old and the eating restrictions are gone!
