We are lucky here in Utah that everyone trick or treated on Saturday instead of Sunday. Lucky, that is, except for the weather. Saturday was nice all day until about 5:00 when it started raining. Lovely. But my kids are troopers and wanted to go still. And after all the time I spent on costumes I was all for it. **Sorry the pics have red eye, but I am trying to get this done before Ellie wakes up from her nap, so I don't have time to fix them right now.
Ellie was super cute as a little pink butterfly for her first Halloween. I didn't ever get a really good picture of her (that seems to be a theme lately), but at least you can see what she looked like. I sprayed silver sparkles in her hair and just did pigtails for antennas and she looked so adorable. She actually had a really great time even through the rain. She loved seeing all the kids and lasted the whole night.

Tucker wanted to be a bee. I'm not sure why since he is really quite scared of bees since he got stung over the summer, but whatever...he and Ellie kind of went together, so I was happy with it. Cutie pie for sure.

I have to say that this is probably my least creative year ever for costumes. Normally I try to find something super creative that I am pretty sure no one else will be dressed up as, but I just wasn't up for it this year so I just let the kids be whatever they came up with. I do think Duncan turned out pretty good though - he has the best hair for dressing up. Note - he looked better before he took his gloves off but those pictures didn't turn out. He had giant pink (his favorite color) gloves that really completed the look, but they bugged him.

Dayton wanted to be a Frankenstain. Again, normally I would try and change his mind, but I figured that it went well with a mad scientist and wouldn't require much effort. I was right - Dayton's took about two minutes to put together. Nice!

Tucker didn't last long in the rain. After about six houses he told me "I don't want to be a bee anymore." Poor kid. The worst part was that about 10 minutes after Jeff came and got him and took him home the rain stopped and it was great the rest of the night. But he had no interest in going back out...he just told Duncan and Dayton to share their loot.

Duncan lasted the longest, as usual. Once we stopped at my mom's Dayton was done, but Duncan, Ellie, and I went out for another 15 minutes or so. He and Dayton have been really nice and given Tucker a bunch of candy - what good brothers.
