Vindication

So for this story we have to rewind about 7 years or so. My parents still lived in Boise and on one of our weekend visits up there my mom and I went to this massive used clothing sale in some old church. Duncan wasn't quite 2 and I was pregnant with Dayton and I was glad to find so many great deals on clothes for the future for them. One of the things I found was an awesome pair of red corduroy overalls with Mickey Mouse parts on them. They were size 5 but they were a great deal so I got them. I was so excited for Duncan to wear them in a few years. When he was one and two years old he wore overalls all the time. Well, cut to one year later....he decided that he hated overalls. He still hated them when he was  four and still yet at five. So the overalls went unworn, but no big deal, Dayton would wear them in a couple of years I was sure. Nope...since Duncan hated overalls Dayton decided he did too. Strike two.

Well, a couple of days ago I did the hugantic clothes swap for all the kids' winter clothes. In Tucker's size 5 box I found, once again, the red Mickey overalls. I almost didn't even put them in his drawer...I kind of thought what was the point - Tucker has never really worn overalls. But I threw them in anyways. Lo and behold, this morning when he was getting ready for school he asked me if he could wear his Mickey pants!! I had to be careful not to sound way too excited about it...I forced myself to be casual and just say 'sure'. But inside I was thrilled. Finally, SEVEN years after I bought them someone is wearing these dang things!

I think he looks awesome.
