All right, I have missed posting some major events on here, and I wanted to catch up on old stuff before I did new stuff, but I decided it has been long enough since I posted that I need to get something on here. My little netbook had been dying a slow death before Christmas and Jeff got me an awesome new Chromebook, but I don't have any of the old pictures on here yet, so I can't. I need to do both Dayton's and Ellie's parties, Dayton's baptism, and Christmas still. We'll see if I ever get around to that.
Anyways, Jeff had off the whole week between Christmas and New Year's...it was awesome. A lot of that time was spent doing projects (another present for me!) but we wanted one day to just do fun stuff with the kids. We decided to go sledding....that might not seem like such a big deal to most people, but with Jeff's back problems it has been years since he's gone sledding with us so the kids were way excited. We drove around for about a half hour trying to find a good spot to sled in and ended up back right close to our house. My mom was nice enough to watch Charlie for us to I could actually go and have a good time and participate.
Ellie rocked. Plain and simple. I have never seen such a little kid be so unafraid. And she pulled her own sled back up the hill. She just went over and over. No fear at all.
See? Proof that Jeff was there and really did go.
I kept trying to get a pic of all four at once heading down, but three was the best I could get.
Ellie was so excited to go down that she never really looked before she took off. So eventually she crashed hard right into some teenager - the teenager actually completely fell down and Ellie just kept on going. Even that wasn't enough to faze her. But then the time immediately after that she crashed again and that was it for her. We couldn't convince her to go anymore and of course she didn't really want to wait around for us and the boys to finish. So she just decided she would go home by herself.
Luckily it didn't seem to scar her permanently. She has gone in our backyard again since then and loves it just as much.
