Picture Tag!

Okay, Sarah tagged me for this one and it is kind of fun. Here are the rules: No cleaning, no straightening, no wiping kids noses....go take pictures right now! I have to say normally Wednesday would have been a great day for me to get this tag since I clean all over in the morning before my primrary meeting. But this morning Duncan had his meeting with his kindergarten teacher so I managed to forget about cleaning until just a half hour before the meeting and that time was reserved for getting Tucker to sleep (which didn't happen anyways...that's kind of how my day has been today). So, here goes...

My Closet

Messy, as usual. I just can't seem to motivate myself to clean something no one besides me or Jeff sees. Sigh.

The Fridge

Notice I do have one nice section up top where I have the magnets I like but the rest is fair game for anything the kids make. The lower half is empty because anything that gets stuck there gets taken down by Tucker. Then he tries to eat the magnet that held it up.

The Laundry Room

Ugly, right? The original owners of the house lived here for 12 years and never finished it. I probably won't either. At least I have an excuse for not spending much time there. Who wants to be in that depressing place?

Self-Portrait

There is one good thing about getting this tag today. Normally when I check blogs it is in the morning when I am still in my pajamas and have not done anything to my hair. So at least I am glad that I didn't have time today until the afternoon to check blogs and I had already gotten ready for the day. Sorry it's a little dark but apparently I look better without the flash. Using the flash while holding the camera that close to me turned out a bit scary.

My Favorite Room

All right, I am cheating a little here. My favorite room is really Duncan and Dayton's room but it is trashed currently and Tucker's room is a close second and it is almost always clean (except for a few stuffed animals). It is always nice and sunny and I love the color.

The Kitchen Sink

Shoot, breakfast dishes. And the empty Kool-Aid pitcher. Dang.

The Bathroom Since my entire house is not spotless like Sarah's I am only going to show you one of the bathrooms. And it's not even like this one is all that great. But sadly, it's better than mine.

The Kids

Tucker was finishing up a snack

Dayton was whining because I wouldn't give him dessert after lunch when he didn't eat any lunch.

Duncan was playing in the toy room that was clean last night but got pretty messy during my primary meeting since the president brings her tw0-year-old little girl and the meeting ran a little long. (Sorry about the red eye. I forgot to take it out before I uploaded the pictures and I am too lazy to start over). Oh, and it's also lucky for the kids' pics that it is afternoon because in the mornings all Duncan and Dayton are in is underwear. They have boycotted jammies.

So there you have it...my house in all its glory. Ha ha. So I tag Angie, Corinne, and Bethany. I have never seen any of your houses so I figure this is almost as good as a visit!

The Tufts said...: I love tags too, but I have just been hit with a moral dilema. Okay, when I saw that you did this tag, I skipped the end so I wouldn't see who you tagged,because my house was a total wreck and then tonight I did, and now I feel like I'm cheating. I think I will have to step down this time, also because I will wake everyone up if I take pictures of my favorite room (mine) and my kids. I'm sorry I'm such a party-pooper. Update on Us:

Jeff: He has been in fairly good health lately! That's a big deal for him during this time of year. He is extremely thankful that the inversion has left though - he has been finding it rather difficult to breathe for about a month so some good air is very appreciated! He still really loves his job - one of the higher ups actually hinted that he might want Jeff to be a manger over a different department but Jeff likes what he's doing so much that he didn't want to move. And my personal favorite thing - he decided a few weeks ago that he was going to do the dishes from now on. This is huge news. I am loving it!

Jaimee: I always have a hard time coming up with something to say about me.... it's just same old, same old. Anything I do think of to say really belongs more under one of the kids. Ooh, I am trying to do more crafty things lately. I miss having projects to work on. One biggy is trying to make these really complicated blankets for all of the kids. I had intended them to be Christmas presents but then I realized that it will probably take me a year to make them all, so I'm shooting for next year. I'm not exactly great at sewing so I am crossing my fingers that they will turn out.

Duncan: I am trying to find a good soccer team for him to join for the spring season. His coach from fall quit halfway through and the dad who took over for him isn't really into it. He really has had the worst luck with teams. It has been so nice having a kid who is old enough to really help out with the youngest one. There are a lot of times where I put him in charge of Charlie while I get something done and he is awesome at it. He took the test to try and get into the ALL program at school next year so we are waiting to hear on that. I think he will enjoy it if he gets in - but if not no big deal.

Dayton: He was SO excited to get to go to Scouts finally. He has such a hard time waiting for things that Duncan gets to do first. He absolutely loves Scouts and was super excited to get his Bobcat badge last week. He also really likes the choir he started - he moved up from the youngest group to the middle group in Jan. and I was a little worried that he wouldn't like it as well since the younger group does a lot of playing in their class but he still loves going. He is doing really well in school, especially in math. My mom got him Skylanders for Christmas and it's his favorite present ever I think. He spends almost all day on Sat. over at her house playing it.

Tucker: Apparently being good at math runs in the family because Tucker's teacher told me at the last parents teacher conference that he is super smart with numbers and did the best of all the kids at the 'what do you know' meeting before school started. He of course absolutely loves kindergarten. He got sick a couple of times at the beginning of the month and he was so so sad to have to miss school. I think he's a little sleep deprived since he goes to bed at the same time as the other boys but when they all share a room it's a little hard to do otherwise. At least he doesn't have to get up early in the morning.

Ellie: She is loving dance school so much! They had a little in-class recital in Dec. and I just had to laugh watching her. She did what she was supposed to every so often but the rest of the time she just was in her own little world and did whatever. At one point she just laid down on the floor and pretended to sleep. I asked her teacher if she was like that in class and she said pretty much. At least she doesn't disturb the other girls though. Hopefully she will catch on soon that she should follow along the whole time. She is turning into a major daddy's girl. I used to sing her a song at bedtime every night but for the past month or so she asks for Jeff every night. And on the weekend she is thrilled that he gets to 'stay home with her' instead of going to work. I am trying not to get my feelings hurt.

Charlie: I cannot believe that my sweet little boy is almost one!! It kind of makes me sad. Since he is our last one all of the milestones he hits are bittersweet for me. But I try to not dwell on that and just be happy about him. He is so dang cute! His hair is getting so long in the front and is short in back, just like Ellie's was - sort of a reverse mullet. He crawls super fast all over the place now and stand up for small bits of time. I think he tried to take one tiny step the other day, but nothing approaching walking yet. We thought for the longest time that he refused to eat any kind of baby food, but apparently it was just me trying to feed him that he objected to. Now that Jeff does it he eats like a champ. We decided to finally get serious about teaching him to sleep at night but it isn't going that well. With him still sleeping in our room it's a little more difficult than normal. I am hoping that someday soon I won't fall asleep at 9:30 every night watching TV.
