First Days of School

Since Tucker is in kindergarten this year and it starts a week after the rest of the school I figured instead of doing two different posts I would just wait and combine them all into one. I'm lazy like that.

So, a week ago Duncan and Dayton had the shock of getting up at 7. (Excuse the not-all-the-way-open shutter. Since it was dark in their room I forgot that it needs some prodding to open up all the way. Thanks, kids.)

Don't they look so happy to be getting up?

I told Dayton to put some socks on and this is what he came downstairs with. Nice first impression, right? This is Dayton in a nutshell right here...no clue what was wrong with his sock choices.

Traditional first day of school ABC pancakes. Don't worry, Dayton's had chocolate chips too...I just made his backwards b/c I thought they looked nicer with the chocolate chips on the bottom.

Ready to go! Duncan was dreading going back to school, but Dayton was super excited. He loves school.

Yesterday it was Tucker's turn. He got his very own ABC pancakes (which I forgot to make backwards) that he was pretty excited about. Not as excited as he could have been since a week earlier I told him he could finish Dayton's leftovers so he had already seen them. Dumb.

He was very excited for his first day. He has heard so much about it and about his amazing teacher. And look! I actually remembered to pin his name worm on him. Go me. I had messed something up about both Duncan's and Dayton's first day of kindergarten, so aside from the pancake thing I was pretty proud of myself this year.

Here he is at the orange table tracing his name. He said that he already made one new friend so that's good.

One more first day....unofficially. I signed Ellie up for a little dance class in the neighborhood and yesterday was her first day of dance school (that's what we call it so she isn't sad about the boys getting to go to school). Isn't she cute? Every other little girl in the class had on a pink leotard but I figure that it might be kind of difficult to go potty with a leotard on so we're sticking with regular clothes. Hopefully she won't notice that she doesn't match.

Well done with the pancakes, I am totally impressed. Ellie looks like a perfect dancer, no leotard needed.
